Fund-a-Need:  Building Marin’s Pet Safety Net

We all know that the costs of having a pet including veterinary bills, healthy food, and pet care supplies add up quickly.  While Marin Humane has a pet care assistance program that helps low-income seniors, there are many vulnerable animals in Marin loved by younger low income people – often between jobs or working through other setbacks.  Requests for help from these people have increased 30% in the past two years.

At Gala 2018, Marin Humane needs your help to address these challenges and improve the quality of services we offer to both young and old by building Marin’s Pet Safety Net to benefit animals belonging to low income individuals. We want Marin Humane to be a first resource instead of a last resort.

Our goal is simple, to ensure no pet will go without veterinary care, nutritious food, and other basic support.  This lifeline will connect animals in need with local veterinarians to provide wellness checks and other vital services.  We’ll also provide food from our emergency food bank or our partners in the community.  Finally, if a family faces an extraordinary veterinary expense that could help their animal live pain free, they’ll no longer have to face the heart-wrenching choice of watching their beloved pet suffer or surrendering them to Marin Humane.

Please join us in this bold, truly humane, initiative.  With your support, there will be so many Lives made happy.

Lives made happy

We bring animals and humans together, forging a bond that impacts not just our homes, but makes neighborhoods happier and healthier. And no one does more to make that happen than us. For over 100 years, we’ve been here to adopt, foster and advocate for animals, but we do so much more.
